Dawar moved to the US to study cinematography at AFI (American Film Institute, LA). The first narrative feature he shot, Under the Same Sun, would go on to premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival and win multiple awards. Apart from English, he has shot a few language-features including Hindi, Mandarin, Tamil, Malayalam & Spanish.

Over the past decade, he has worked extensively at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, developing virtual production workflows on LED volumes, the latest bing a massive 100ft across and 24ft high projection based volume – a first in the country. His credits also include on-set virtual production work for One Perfect Shot (Warner Brothers Horizon), Sheriff county, other Paramount+, Netflix , HBOmax shows like Dead to me, Hacks etc.

A specialist in ICVFX cinematography and color science, Dawar has been progressively engaged in cutting edge capture technologies using Gsplats and camera tracking technologies that integrate into hi-tech volumes based on the challenges of a given project.

To unwind, he enjoys classical music and seeks the quiet with long hikes, ping pong or a morning spent paddle-boarding with his little daughter.
